According to Mike Carss, aka Altus, this series is something that he should have done years ago, and has been suggested by a number of his listeners. “The Sidereal Cycle 1” is the first of a four “disc” project (that will be on-going into 2013) that looks at the grand theme of time and the seasons in a different way. The series will also include a spiritual successor to “Winter Embrace” (since too many kept asking for “Winter Embrace IV”).

We are talking about smooth and contemplative mood music here, nicely fitted into one 51–minute continuous textural landscape. “Cygnus” gradually floats along in various movements and comes in waves.
The lengthy outcome is contemporary symphonic and cinematic in nature, with subtle currents and twists along some occasional more pronounced melodic themes. A sense of melancholia resonates from the deeper layers of the composition while the overall sound feels like a “new-age healing” mental massage.

The free of charge download is available in 320kb MP3 and FLAC from the Free Floating Music netlabel.
