DIGITAL DOWNLOAD, Resonating Earth, 2010

“Core” is the fourth release by the Dutch duo Apollonius (aka Eelke van Hoof, previously known as Human Metronome) and 33 Tetragammon (aka Wasili Papadopoulos).

Were their other albums already pretty introspective, the 70-minute sonic content of “Core” should take the listener on a trip along the innermost landscapes of varied terrain. In addition, the quite demanding content offers listeners the opportunity to immerse in or intuitively connects with various moods and psychological “soul-level-states” to find the essence within your own being (as is the description of the composers for all this.

What we most of all got here is a rather experimental oriented work of spacious ambient textures and pads, accompanied by organic structures, dark undercurrents and environmental/watery sound bits.
I personally find the occasional use of flute quite distracting. And although the music as a whole may be quite New Age like, its not as harmonic, relaxing and soothing as one might think.

“Core” is an example of adventurous and deep ambient, only suitable for those who like drone-oriented stuff as made by Mathias Grassow or Oöphoi.

“Core” is only available as digital download from various online outlets such as I Tunes, CD-Baby, MusicZeit and Amazon.
