“EMP 3” is an electronic sketchbook which sees UK synthesist Graham Getty playing around and learning the ins and outs of an acquired P3 sequencer.
The 60-minute outcome presented on the six lengthy pieces is for those who have a knack for minimalist analogue sequencing paired with steady beats along some melody passing by occasionally. On the final track, “Bank 10v1”, Graham comes up with a variation on the spatial sequence heard on TD’s “Logos” album.
All in all, Mr Getty’s classical Berlin school style doesn’t come to full fruition yet, but “EMP3” has its interesting and captivating moments when embracing the listener with its mid-‘70’s vintage TD sound.
