Facing a life-threatening disease and suffering from the severe physical and mental consequences of it has been what John Kerr’s life has been all about the last few years. In its own way, “Embracing the Inevitable” celebrates the beauty of life along focusing on the positive side of things.

As such, the result is a highly emotive sonic narrative coming up most close and personal, offering two 34-minute classical suites with a recurring theme featuring soft flowing and most gentle soundscapes, piano and string pads. All are layered and melted carefully, building upon heavenly, dynamic yet symphonic-orchestral realms as the music morphs and evolves in a minimalist manner.

With the exception of the rather surprising dance-tune “Let’s Go Have A Party, Man” -symbolizing a mood of “enough negativity, let’s enjoy life while it’s still possible”-, the overall feel and depth of the music resembles a similar spirit as found in Robert Fox’s “The Fire and the Rose” while other passages almost dance with the angels.

All in all, “Embracing the Inevitable” is for all those looking for deep emotional musical motives stirring the soul and heart with a dash of New Age thrown in.
