With “Cosmophonica”, German synthesist Bernd Scholl, aka Moonbooter, brings his fans another highly accessible and melodic release that I’m sure will appeal to many.
While taking his audience on a trip through the cosmos, he aptly pairs and mixes (atmo)spheric sound paintings with symphonic and up-tempo outings. The 10-minute title-piece is a strong one, but catchy takes such as “Like Angels”, “Good Bye Elements” or “Desire is irrerelevat” know perfectly how to propel its listeners swiftly and most pleasantly through the grand design of cosmic spaces out there.
In addition, Moonbooter again has come up with some infectious sequencing and powerful rhythms that make his music at certain spots almost line up to trance electro. The clear, spacious and transparent sound design makes the 75-minute outcome shine vibrantly.
For the audio-heads: “Cosmophonica” is also available on dvd in 5.1 Surround sound.
