moonbooter – Orbit Number 2
CD-R, Mellowjet Records, 2006

On “Orbit Number 2” Bernd Scholl brings us 62-minutes of overall groovy and highly sequenced electronic music, spread out over eight lengthy tracks.
The album is actually the audio companion to a dvd of the same name with 5.1 Surround Sound featuring some old Nasa visuals.

The outcome is up-tempo, spatial and catchy space music, in which the melodic structures are kept simple and the music overall accessible.
The trancy turmoil and apt pairing of beats and atmospheres which e.g. makes “Hymne a la Lune” and several others almost danceable ones.

The album concludes with the bonus track “Haka”. It’s a track by Erik Seiffert with a great bass lines and tribal-flavoured beats which received a “boot from moon mix”.

After that, it’s not over yet as this is an extended data disc containing three mp3 tracks, offering another 23 minutes of hybrid electronics.

I have no doubt fans of general melodic music will instantly dig “Orbit Number 2” .
