ROBERT BEAU MICHAELS
The Wasteland -music for an apocalyptic world-
CD-R, Private Release, 2010
Robert Beau Michaels is an American expat who currently resides in Prague, Czech Republic. He initially tried to pursue a career as screenwriter in Hollywood during the 1980's and 90's.
Frustrated with his inability to sell his scripts and later on also not getting any of his non-fiction book series published, he decided to devote his life to another passion: composing music.

The compassionate music on "The Wasteland" is of an unhurried, cinematic nature, offering smooth and gentle flowing textural music with spacy and romantic undercurrents. The string soundscapes slowly curl and wind down in harmony with a sense of deep-felt melancholy as if it was to say that not everything is lost in this crazy world.

In that process, the soft yearning violin parts are a great counterpoint as they fly over the dense textures and shades. The darker, slightly gloomy soundscapes are especially found in the middle section of the album.

Some might classify it as new age, but I think Robert’s nicely rendered and multi-layered atmospheric structures reach out further than that, bringing a honest message of hope through the music of "The Wasteland"

P.S. The music is sold only as digital MP3 download at Itunes.
