November 2018 marked 10 years since Dennis Huddleston’s finished his (still) excellent 36 debut-album “Hypersona”. From there his highly emotive and most captivating ambient music evolved step by step and invited its listeners into new uncharted territory on more than one occasion.
“Ego Death”, a thank-you to his loyal fan-base and community of followers, offers eight tracks of beautifully moulded and highly emotive minimal ambient sound design with a canvas of utterly calm dressed over it. Well, the ethereal, enchanted, melancholic and dreamful shake hands firmly on the four freeform tracks (sourced from 36’s recent and currently ongoing 2018 Audio Diary compilation), to which Dennis added four bonus tracks, alternate and longer versions of the main tracks exclusive to the Bandcamp digital release.
This album is a must-have for guys like me who dig intimate, textural and profound atmospheric ambient soundscapes of the highest quality.
The download of “Ego Death” is available on a “free/pay what you want”-basis on 36’s Bandcamp page. An extremely limited vinyl press of “Ego Death” is scheduled for release in April 2019.
