Under the Dome – Dome Roots Collection
CD-R, Cochlear Vision Records, 2003

This special cd contains eight tracks of which five have already been released on the limited edition UTD cd-r “The Earth”.

The focal point on this album –like on previous cds- is the output of the Roland M100, so sound wise you’re automatically entering Redshift territory here. The musical approach of UTD is somewhat quieter but fortunately not less interesting.

With this cd-r you get 73 minutes of nice vintage sequencing along some furious guitar-work, although it also gets quiet occasionally. The latter e.g. applies to the atmospheric track “Driftwood”. Of course there are some echoes of classic TD material, such as the cinematic “The Messenger” (nicely fitting the mid/end ‘70’s vein), which continues in the 23-minute opus “Half a Lifetime”.

Apparently, this cd-r has been released in a very limited number, so it may prove very hard to track down a copy.
