On the 78-minute recording “Virtual Minds”, talented German composer Uwe Reckzeh moves closer to TD’s melodic, sequencer-driven music from the ‘80’s.
His Berliner-School spiced album also features lots of engaging melodic lines, which –in combination with the already mentioned sequencing – explain why his infectious and well-structured music is loved by so many EM-fans. It’s hard not to be touched by the intrinsic power, steady rhythms and joy for vintage music inherited in tracks like “Themes from Iceland”, “Polarisation”, “Diverse Adventure”, the fine title track or the tantalizing “Gates” .
No, “Virtual Minds” doesn’t disappoint the least. I for one would love to see Mr Reckzeh perform this kind of stuff for a live audience.
