Vanderson’s previous album “Vandisphere” sounded quite disappointing to my ears so it is good composer Maciej Wierzchowski is back with the consistent “Beyond Time Structure”. The latter contains a 64-minute mix of exciting, fresh, spacious and driving contemporary electronics moving and shifting easily between Schiller, Jarre, label-owner Moonbooter, IDM and EDM. Gone though is any reference toward classic Em or Berlin School as known from his previous work.
Combos of catchy bass sequences and deep dancy beats deliver a sturdy backbone to the melodic and energetic outcome kicked off by the excellent “Children of Andromeda” and “Outer Space”. Especially the mid-section of the release sounds more average but the modern sound design of steady rhythms, sequences and pads lead things onward in a swift, easy-going manner.
