In the world of electronic music it’s always nice to discover new names by means of samplers.
This one comes from the Danish Iboga’s sublabel Sofa Beats and is compiled in 2005 by one Michael Banel. The cd features a very nice collection of modern electronic music from all over the globe featuring musicians like Bluetech, Aural Planet, Sundial, Alex Scheffer, True to Nature and even music from Russia by a band called Koan.
Absolute highlights are Bluetech’s “Wilderness”, Sunfruits Avenue” by the Polish Aural Planet and Axel Scheffer’s “Under your Mind”, but the other tracks are also very tasty.
Those who love releases of the Spiralight or Ultimae-label should certainly dig into this Scandinavian well of stunning produced chill out/downbeat music which makes you close your eyes and flow along beautiful waves of sound. Very well done!
