With “Echoes in the Vacuum”, Alpha Wave Movement’s music takes a turn offering seven shorter compositions of cyclic-rhythmic, melodic, lighter-flavored and accessible electronic mood music.
Not only does a dance beat fly by on opener “Herzschlag des Universums”, the album’s overall sphere is mellower and very lush due to various chill-out elements. “Akasha” adresses some halucinogenic-psychedelic realm while a slight jazzy undertone marks “Garden of Memories”.
For me though this sonic backdrop for an imaginary space-café (or Space-tronica for Psychonauts as the composer likes to call it on the cover) doesn’t tick enough boxes.
