“Una Presencia En La Brisa” (A Presence In The Breeze) by soundsculptors Leandro Fresco and Rafael Anton Irisarri is something for all who have a weak spot for 36’s emotive textural ambient music.
The album’s concept deals with human connection in an age where contact can be achieved easily but not without its flaws and faults. The largest part of the beatless music on the six tracks is made up of expanded sometimes even ethereal vocal pads coming in gentle waves, going onward effortlessly. It’s morphs on gently, though in total is not as strong and thoughtful as 36. Peculiar is these contradict with the dense, distorted drone tapestries taking the stage on the fourth and sixth piece, making them much harder and heavier to immerse into. However, if you skip those a fine set of swelling ambient soundscapes remain for relaxed enjoyment.
