“Mosaic” is the debut release by American synth-wizard Richard Burmer, who sadly passed away in September 2006. Considered a sparkling New Age release in his homeland, the almost 48-minute musical travelogue counts 11 varied tracks which sees a keen synthesis of melodic electronics with world music elements, sophisticated percussion and expansive symphonic textures. Here, Richard travels in both inner and outer space, merging the subtle and the dynamic in a rather genius manner while he weaves song after song almost seamlessly into the next. Overall, the personal and at times even intimate music of “Mosaic” airs a distinct perfume of purity and true musicianship that has become rare in nowadays Em-world. |
