“Ramelion” is the third release by Spiraleye, a project of contemporary improvised electronic music by UK-musicians Peter Challoner (synths) and ambient guitarist Neale Haddon. The 70-minute album contains eight spontaneous crafted compositions, where emotive sound design and textural ambiences merge with groove-based soundscape music. The spherical outcome sees the composers play and respond to one another in a live situation, a sonic dialogue capturing the essence of both inspired conscious and unconscious moments. Among the featured pieces, the 7-minute title-track sure is a highlight, as all elements blend together seamlessly. As on the previous two albums, the reflective and at times dreamy realm of ambient immersion layed-down on “Ramelion” invites the listener on a journey through various states of consciousness. |
