Various Artists – Devil in the Detail

“Devil in the Detail” is a downtempo breaks and bass compilation from the Canadian Interchill records, containing what the label describes as “a heavy dose of chunk, crunch and glitched out textures”.
The disc has been carefully compiled by uk-based label dj/webmaster/graphic designer Nick Edell, who presents a fresh sounding and well produced collection of tracks.

Well, the compilation certainly contains an interesting range of psychedelic electro styles, although I don’t care that much for some abstract sounding recordings.
Personally, I prefer the textural , atmospheric stuff on this cd, as featured by Tripglitch (aka Tripswitch) and Legiac next to the groovy, bass rumblings of Vibesquad, Gaudi or Tripper.

Those of you who love electro-minimalism, beat-electro and hyper-refined electronic soundings should make sure to investigate this intriguing musical aesthetic.
