I received word about Mr Saykov’s EP “Cold Front” through the Gterma weblog, and was more than keen too investigate it as his album “Mistral” made quite an impression on me. The release contains three parts, complemented by various remixes of the track by other artists. Sonically, the instrumental music moves in the same eclectic dance/groove dub/techno beat style, dressed by deep and lush soundscapes while being a less melodic overall. Of the parts, the third one made together with Ouvert is the best and catchiest. “Cold Front” is available as a free/name-your price download from the netlabel’s Bandcamp site. |
