Mike Carss writes to “Terraform”, it is the completion of the “Pioneer” trilogy, continuing Altus’ journey into the immense cosmic outdoors, where the outcome acts as a soundtrack for explorers of a new planet beyond our solar system. That 53-minute, 8-track result turns out to be highly accessible, sequenced, and melodic, but also rather generic to my ears. I myself prefer the ambient side of Altus’ music as addressed on “Emerald Vapour”, but I can’t deny the joyous atmosphere created on “Structures of Abundance” and the cinematic “Biosphere” are quite a bit up my alley as well. Verdict: between 3 and 3.5 stars |
