On this 60-minute release, we hear Uwe Saher turn up the gentle, easy listening road, already paying tribute to Andreas Vollenweider and his “Behind the Gardens…” album on the opening piece with some smooth synthetic harp sounds and smooth rhythms. The remaining seven synthetic harp and flute sounds float above slightly groovy sequences and standard rhythms. It’s not an outcome I’m getting the least excited about, as I know what this talented German is truly capable of (such as his well-done predecessors “Late in Berlin” or “Back to the Roots II”). |
