“Re-oceaning by Ibiza-based composer, sound engineer, and ocean advocate Coco Francavilla began as both an inner journey and a global call to action, challenging us to reimagine ocean conservation through sound, empathy, and presence. In the creative process, hydrophone recordings of marine life were used and melted with ambient-electronic soundscapes to end up as emotionally resonant music. It resulted in an intimate act of re-oceaning, an oceanic “rewilding”, a call to return to our sensory origins in water, and a shared moment of deep listening and oceanic remembrance.

The “Re-oceaning” EP channels this message into three immersive tracks:

Track 1: “Re-oceaning” – The original 5-minute live sound meditation that introduced Coco’s vision to a global audience during her TEDxDaltVila 2025 talk.

Track 2: “Re-oceaning” (Rafael Anton Irisarri rework) – A nearly 11-minute deep ambient reinterpretation by Rafael Anton Irisarri, who also collaborates on marine conservation efforts through Music For The Sea.

Track 3: “Ocean womb” – An almost 18-minute extended listening journey through marine soundscapes and evolving oceanic textures, designed to promote awareness and inner connection.

Please note that all proceeds of this release support MusicForTheSea.org, funding marine conservation, underwater acoustic research, and Ocean Literacy initiatives.

Aficionados of Living Dreamtime – “Exploring the Water Element” or Lisa Walker’s “Grooved Whale” will find this music up their alley, I reckon.
