Debut album by this Illinois-based American with a beautiful art cover. David’s ambient music on this disc is largely interspersed with ethnic and xylophone-like sounds that are very reminiscent of Indonesia. A notable exception to this style is the 14-minute title track, which also serves as the album’s closer. It is calmly rhythmic, with pulsating sequencer work overlaid with wonderfully flowing, melodic (and at the end almost ghostly) sounds that lean somewhat towards the older TD. Without a doubt, the best track on this well-produced album, which in my opinion alone justifies its purchase. |
