Dweller at the Threshold – No Boundary Condition
CD, Eurock, 1996

Dweller at theThreshold is a retro-project founded by Paul Ellis and Dave Fulton, helped out by Jeff Vasey.
The project’s music, firmly rooted in the classic Berliner School style, is complex and while not always clearly heading into a certain direction, there’s this intruiging thread running underneath the various movements and individual pieces that makes the outcome satisfying and most certainly recommendable.
Personally, I’m very much pleased with the tracks on the recording featuring profound atmospheric and deep space music, such as “Silent Watcher Of Dark Matter” and “The Revealing Spiral”.

If you’re fond of sequenced vintage electronics with long solos and an overall futuristic feel, the half structured, half improvised music captured on DATT’s debut “No Boundary Condition” is certainly something to check out. Keep in mind though it can be hard to find a copy of this album today.
