Javi Cánovas – Light Echoes

Although the title might suggest something different, the sonic content of “Light Echoes” is a spiralling, high-energy drive of vintage electronics.

Like his previous recording “Impasse”, the 66-minute “Light Echoes” by Spanish musician Javi Canovas contains three lengthy tracks.
The music on all three pieces features dynamic, up-tempo Berliner School sequencing which forms the framework around which Javi drapes his variety of vintage effects and textures.

The music blends power chords with great mellotron flutes and floating synth pads, but the shifting, pulsating sequencing always makes the overall listen feel like a rollercoaster ride.

All in all, this album is a must-have for retro fans.
