When it comes to contemporary, cosmic-angled and melodic music,Mr Ottaway’s “Treasures of Light” has a lot on offer. Same as the approach of the albums “A Promise of Eternity” and “Somewhere Inbetween”, Jim compiled this album from tracks recorded as early as June 2008 and completed recording and production in May 2026. It’s overall sound design is fresh, transparent and emotive, featuring some poignant rhythms and beats supporting and carrying this fine body of work onward. E.g. a track such as “Fragments of Fate” will certainly be loved by Vangelis fans, while the rhythmic driven, uncomplicated character of other tracks (as well as its soaring leads) will appeal to many within the genre without doubt. Next to the 11 tracks on the hardcopy release, its download version comes with a bonus track, the edited version of Jim’s current single “Ancient Rainforest”. |
