Joe Frawley – A Book of Dreams

Joe Frawley hails from Norwich, Connecticut, who’s album “A Book of Dreams” (subtitled “works for processed found sounds and piano”) comprises two previously released EP (“The Hypnotist” and “Tangerine”).

Imagine the processed piano sounds of Brian Eno or Harold Budd, to which a wide range of environmental sounds and samples, spoken phrases and voice samples are added.
The 50-minute outcome balances between imaginative, classical mood music and experimental/abstract oriented sonics, containing both repetitive, hypnotizing/emotive patterns and surreal soundscapes.

All in all, I would characterize the album as a peculiar kind of ambient, textural music with cinematic undercurrents.
