Klaus Schulze & Lisa Gerrard – Dziekuje Bardzo
CD, Synthetic Symphony/SPV, 2009

The triple-cd set “Dziekuje Bardzo”, recorded live during concerts in November 2008 in Warsaw and Berlin, is the next chapter in a cooperation between Klaus Schulze and Lisa Gerrard.
This release also sees a return to lengthy tracks, as there are only six pieces in total: two clocking over 40 minutes, another two lasting around the 30 minute mark, one of 20 minutes and a short closing piece of 6 minutes.

Next to the fact that the Warsaw and Berlin live set have a different feeling, the overall music also has a more minimal approach, the music of the Berlin-concert having a more dynamic, energetic impact.
As can be expected, the outcome offers only exclusive new pieces, although resemblances with the outcome on “Kontinuum” can’t be missed next to influences of “Farscape” and “Rheingold”.

Klaus seems in a good mood as he plays some emotional mini-moog solo’s hovering over groovy sequencer patterns and great vocal pads on “Shoreless One” and “Shoreless Two”, definitely the best tracks found here in opinion.
Lisa Gerard gives her best as she sings intensely on “Bazylika NSJ”, “Godspell”, “Ocean Of Innocence” and “Spanish Ballerina”.

Still, while listening to “Dziekuje Bardzo”, I more than once felt it another variation on what Lisa and Klaus have done previously, which makes things less exciting, lasting and meaningfull in the end.

After “Farscape”, the previous live-release, and this triple-cd album, I therefor strongly suggest Mr Schulze should take a time-out, seriously make up his mind, pull the plug on this collaborative project for quite a while and start work on a new solo endavour.
Just my two cents…
