The magic and possibilities of Moog equipment are demonstrated clearly on “Moogmentum” by Lisa Bella Donna, who’s a proud ambassador & educator of Moog Music and all of the artistry that goes into making their instruments. The sonic landscape enfolding on the continuous 11-track outcome (depicted as a synthesizer journey in two movements) is dreamful, timeless, and emotive, celebrating the sound of the early days of Moog instruments all the way through. I personally prefer the gorgeous textures and drone tapestries above the occasional rather freaky solos heard throughout this 41-minute dedication to the life & work of Robert A. Moog, which above all turns out an aesthetic as well as inspiring mix of the sound of the early cosmic couriers and Berlin School. Rating: 3.5- stars |
