Those who have seen this remarkable woman play live at E-Day 2026 have experienced a very talented, extraordinary and above all profoundly skilled musician who’s very much at home in the analogue gear domain. She has actually been composing and recording music since the mid/late ‘80s. ”Odyssey” offers four tracks of exciting, pure analogue delight and synth wizardry that’s unusual, adventurous and constantly challenging. Here, the profound and impressive sounds and possibilities of retro gear is put centre stage, echoing the psychedelic as well as classic synth works of Zanov, Wendy Carlos, Far East Family Band, along with elements of Krautrock and impressions of jazz fusion of the ’70s. The tracks “La Nodriza” and “Mystery Rituals” are what Lisa refers to as instant compositions, 100% improvised. The rather epic 22-minute “Hero, Hero”, though, is an older live concert recording captured during an art gallery performance to which other colours and textures were added in a later stage to complete the piece. Keep in mind, though, this won’t be for everyone’s ear at first listen, but all who decide to give her transformative, otherworldly sound worlds some further spins and thorough listens will encounter the many charming yet evocative hooks of her vibrant aural excursions. In my opinion, LisaBella Donna’s sound alchemy is a showcase that blends the soothing, multidimensional, the epic, and the intimate masterfully in the creative process. |
