“Black Ocean” is the 35-minute outcome of Chris Bryant’s visit to Wuppertal in March 2025, seeing both accomplished musicians create a deep, immersive space ambient live-set by applying Martin’s entire assortment of hardware synthesizers. As Martin recalls, it was a first take after they programmed the sounds and talked about the structure of the music. Well, creating warm, evocative off-world spherescapes and fluid spacious acoustics along some tasty, gently tweaked sequencing are key here. Fans of the quality music on the Synphära-label as well as Mr Stürtzer should not hesitate to submerge in this quality, delightful space ambience, I reckon. |
