Now this is an example of two musicians trying to extend on the vintage BS-style, but failing rather big time. Coming up with a nice retro sequence (quite often lining up next to late ’70’s Schulze) and some spherical pads is one thing, but the pointless, bland sounding solos and overall improvised nature found in each of the seven parts make the outcome a weak and uninspired effort to my ears. Not to mention the single sounds bits and experimental effects just scattered randomly, not adding anything moody or substantial. Most of all, the real heart and soul of vintage EM is dearly missed here.
In my opinion, the inconsistent music heard on “Interférences” should have stayed within the studio walls.
