For “Back to Basics”, Dutch synthesist Tom Habes decided on a long piece of music lasting 55 minutes, in which he audibly looks back to his early style but also blends it with the spirit of his current musical style.

The whole is divided into eight separate parts that flow seamlessly into one another, in which a clever combination of rhythmic, cinematic, and atmospheric passages alternate ingeniously. Quirky music that grabs the listener by the scruff of the neck and keeps them captivated until the beautiful finale. Recommended.
