The accessible music of Reiner Klein has been on my radar since he started releasing music through the -now sadly defunct- MellowJet label. Somehow, he also belongs to the league of musicians many haven’t heard of, which is a pity. The 76-minute “Time of Nations” sounds powerful, emotive, and contemporary: it can sit comfortably next to the music of e.g., Maxxess or F.D. Project, as it airs similar intrinsic vibes all the way through its veins created by the attentive merging of melodies, strong sequencing, rhythms, and guitar. Here, peppy electronics shake hands with post- and progressive rock. Nice going, Mr Klein. |
