“Unbroken Spirit” was meant to be created in the flesh and live in the moment but due to the unfortunate strike of Covid19 things had to be rescheduled between the two musicians with most of the work achieved remotely. I’d say those looking for some peppy, melodic-infused music should check out this punchy collaborative release by Mr. Ellis & Mr. White. The latter refers to the album’s unique sound palette as an unusually up-tempo and energetic take on classic European-style electronic music. Well, it indeed is a peculiar blend of instrumental, rhythm-based music with a rocky vibe where quite a bit of spatial sequencing, pronounced bass lines and joyful, swirling soundings meet. Grab this accessible recording when a vibrant, quite an infectious mix of ’80s TD, Ulrich Schnauss, Patrick O’Hearn, and William Orbit attracts your attention. |
