Perge – A Fleeting Abstraction of an Evocation in Cryosleep
CD/Digital Download, Private Release, 2025

Mr. Stringer pinpoints the outcome, consisting of two lengthy parts, as a return to the more primordial era of the Berlin School. Once again, the sound and atmosphere of TD’s early and mid-’70s work is embedded firmly in the core of the music, which is made up of an alchemy of vintage sounds, choir pads, mellotron, and sound effects as well as some e-guitar bits.

This is no busy music but more of a reflective, slightly psychedelic/spaced-out nature -especially the mellotron and piano meditations- aside from some sparse sequencing/rhythm and passages made up of haunting, emotive melodies. In that respect, the second half of part two is simply mesmerizing.

Note: the download version of “A Fleeting Abstraction of an Evocation in Cryosleep” has another two tasty parts (of 13 and 12 minutes respectively) not present on the hardcopy.
