Known as a founding member and keyboard player of symphonic/prog-rock band Camel, Pete Bardens released a few solo releases after he left. The 33-minute “Seen One Earth” is an accessible, moody, and overall mellow-sounding album with a clean electronic sound. I guess some might characterize the atmospheric as well as melodic outcome as ambient-New Age that occasionally ventures into The Alan Parsons Project, Pink Floyd, and Vangelis territory. Of the eight tracks, the spacy title piece is a strong exercise, airing a slight “Lunar Sea” vibe, while some early Camel shines through on “Seascape” and “Home Thoughts”. “In Dreams” even starts out a bit like Camel’s “Drafted”. A digitally remastered edition of the album came out in 2014. |
