The music on Mr. Fox’s fourth release is based on Robert’s time spent in Canada and legends of the Canadian Indians. I can be brief about the nearly 80-minute “A Gathering of Spirits”, as the outcome features the composer’s recognisable musical style of symphonic-angled synth pads and some accompanying piano parts. Once again, various passages sound compelling, majestic, yet grand with nice hints of Vangelis, but sound-wise it doesn’t bring anything new to the table. So those fond of classic Fox recordings will appreciate it anyway, I reckon. |
