Solar Fields – Leaving Home

“Leaving Home” is the third album by the Swedish musician Magnus Birgersson aka Solar Fields.
It contains almost 80 minutes of high-tech down tempo groove music with occasional some floating textural electronica, although also veena and sitar are applied in the second track “Time Slide”.

The third and fourth track sound rather chaotic and restless to my ears, and catching up on a certain flow in the music after that wasn’t easy either.

The second half of the album seems more cohesive, and especially “Cocoon Moon” (live at Glastonbury) – which has a great atmosphere and massive bass line – and “Monogram” are very nice tracks.
