AWith “Random Friday”, Mr Solar Fields Magnus Birgersson brings us an energetic album with music that continues where his 2007-release “[Earthshine]” left us. Although it opens atmospheric and lush with “Light Control”, the heavy beats and deep downtempo bass lines present themselves as soon the second (title) track kicks in. To my ears, the groovy music making up “Random Friday” seems less “busy” and “hectic” while sonically also being more in balance compared to “[Earthshine]”. Still, there’s a great drive pushing the melodic and tasty tracks onward along some fine deep sequencing shifting things in a steady motion again and again. Be energized by this deep ride! |
