One can’t have missed the big as well as too frequent amount of releases this musician has put out in the last 2 decades, which had a significant negative impact on their quality and impact of many of them in my opinion. Fortunately, the etheric textural ambiences and blankets of vaporous soundscapes making up “One Day of Forever” raise the bar in a most positive manner. It’s the gentle melancholic currents and warm impact embedded in the smooth drifting and circular/minimalist atmospheres along an undercurrent vibe of timelessness that make it absolutely worth checking out, certainly when you’re an aficionado of Steve’s tender, overtly calm albums. The long form pieces “All I Know” and “Slow Emotion” -each clocking at 19 minutes- are bang on and worth the purchase alone: both open the gate to far-off, slightly mysterious corridors and imminent dream spaces. I, for one, classify the recording as a candidate to calm the mind as well as evening/night music, suitable for infinite playback.
