Ralf Gülpen’s 127-minute “Space Symphony” is an ambient project through space and time. His friend Wilfried Schüller narrated the prologue in English, and the texts for the prologue and the planets were written by him. The planets and moons were then narrated by an AI. Here, an imaginative journey through the vast cosmos presents itself, where all freeform synth textures and sound effects evolve and shapeshift in a slow, calm fashion as we drift effortlessly past various moons and planets. I’d say this is quite enchanting headphone music featuring the TiRa sonic trademark, as known from Ralf’s previous releases. Especially the “Earth” piece impressed me with its immersive, uplifting, and floating sound design. “Space Symphony” is released on Bandcamp as well as through Groove as a download, next to a special edition on two sticks, one containing the album and one featuring a video for the album. |
