“Stars and Dust” is an album full off well-made, attractive and atmospheric down-tempo electronics encouraging the listener to get horizontal and feel at ease. This time around and compared to his previous efforts, tenderness seems the keyword here. The lush, dub-oriented and affective melodic outcome by Islandic creative mind Aðalsteinn Guðmundsson is an emotive aural world evolving in slow motion to mesmerizing and embracing effect. Next to smooth organic and minimal electronics some sparkling piano keys appear occasionally next to low-bass infused rhythmic structures and beds of gentle soaring synthwaves. The overall ambiance simply draws the listener inward effectively and without effort while the invisible hypnotic curtain falls…. |
