What I have here is a quite interesting collaboration between EM veteran Brannan Lane and musician/producer Billy Denk. They present a 50-minute cosmic courier, addressing a lighter type of space music, pairing soft, sparkling sequences with sweeping, melodic, and spiced textural pads, occasionally dressed with a minimalist touch (e.g., “Distant Dreams”). The duo’s sonic tapestries evaporate a dreamy, imaginary perfume as they accompany us through the galactic spheres. I would have preferred the 10-track “Celestial Lullaby” to have tapped deeper into deepspace realms, sounding a bit more ethereal and otherworldly, but I guess space music fans will already appreciate the current result. |
