Brendan Pollard, Free System Project (aka Ruud Heij and Marcel Engels) and Hashtronaut (aka Michael Daniel) belong to the group of consistent purveyors who keep on investigating and revisiting the realms of vintage electronics as made in the first half of the ‘70’s.
“Time Out of Mind” sees them all collaborate at Radial Velocity Studio, together riding the edge with a wide variety of moody retro sounds and sequencer patterns, which leaves room to put in there own musical fingerprints wherever possible.
The almost 78-minute outcome, presented in four pieces, is an absolute joy to listen to, as the musicians trigger and challenge each other to bring out their best as they wander back and forth through vintage atmospheres which so many nowadays fans of electronic music still cherish a lot.
All in all: those who count TD’s “Ricochet” or “Rubicon” to their favourites or still feel shiffers running through their spine when the sound of retro electronic music fills their ears should make sure to buy a copy of “Time Out of Mind”.
