"Sequencer Rarities" is a collection of six lone and special tracks composed between 2000 and 2007 that (unfortunately) never made it to any of the albums released by Groove Unlimited.
Those familiar and fond of the driving rhythmic Berlin school sequencing on Rudy’s "Sequencer Sketches" album series or "Concerts in the USA" will be pleased the 54-minute outcome found here is of a similar kind, featuring many of the same techniques leading to Mr. Adrian’s recognizable sounddesign.
For me best is found towards the end, where the 23-minute semi-live track "Wind in the Trees" is propelling things in motion in quite a dynamic sense after a spherical ambient intro. The vintage-oriented "Summers at Ruby Bay" (which hails back to 1995) though is the gem for me on "Sequencer Rarities", revealing a captivating string of fast sequencer patterns, haunting breaks, and a set of hypnotic-spacious pads. What a fascinating and intruiging sonic ride. I for one am very glad these "shelved" pieces have surfaced after all these years.
